GlobalFun moves it with uMove

Karlskrona Sweden, August 20th 2008 – GlobalFun, a Publisher and Developer of premium mobile games has today announced a new product line called uMove.

In essence the product line uMove encompasses games that require movement and active physical participation by the player by utilizing accelerometer or camera support. This added dimension is not just a substitute control method. Cesar Guarinoni, Producer GlobalFun, explains "All of the games in uMove are based on the dimension of movement and the game-play will reflect this. Sticking this extra control on existing games would have been easy, but we felt it was a great opportunity to create a new kind of game really based upon the fact that you move, hence the name uMove".

The first releases are to be made in the beginning of the first quarter of 2009 and will be “uMove: FollowMe” and “uMove:Lavarynth”. FollowMe is about making shapes as seen on the phone screen using movement with the help of sound as guidance. Lavarynth has more of a subtle puzzle twist and is about guiding lava through a labyrinth by tilting the phone in different angles.

Bertil Krumnack, EVP Sales and Business Development concluded “Technology can be fun but our focus remains on the user experience. We really wanted to package this into something utilizing the new possibilities that movement provides. We believe that our uMove product line is a good first step in really taking the mobile games experience to the next level.”
